Registration Process
On-road registration is currently not available. Georgia Department of Revenue Policy Bulletin MVD-2023-05, issued in 2023, bars the issuance of titles for kei-class vehicles and directed the revocation of existing registrations.
Agricultural and Private Property Use
Operated on private agricultural land, kei trucks do not require registration. Farm-use exemptions apply and are not affected by MVD-2023-05.
Monitor Legislative Activity
HB 308, which would have restored kei truck registration, was vetoed in May 2025. Advocates are preparing for the next legislative session. Monitor the Georgia General Assembly and DOR for updates.
Insurance Information
Road insurance is not applicable for unregistered vehicles. If using on private agricultural property, consult your farm/property insurer regarding off-road equipment coverage.

Additional Notes
If you purchased a kei truck in Georgia before the 2023 policy change, your registration was administratively revoked. Some owners are participating in ongoing legal challenges to MVD-2023-05.
Do not rely on old registrations that may have survived the revocation process — verify current status directly with the GA DOR before operating on public roads.
Common Issues
