Vermont Act 153 adds qualifying kei vehicles to the pleasure-car category and allows kei trucks within the farm-truck category. Eligibility depends on the Act’s actual size and engine definitions.

How do titling and registration work?
The Act defines a kei vehicle as four-wheeled, at most 660 cc, at most 130 inches long, 78 inches high, and 60 inches wide. Verify measurements and application requirements with DMV; the Japanese kei label alone is not enough.
Which roads and speeds are permitted?
A qualifying kei vehicle registered as a pleasure car follows pleasure-car rules; a kei truck registered as a farm truck follows farm-truck rules. The Act protects corresponding use from additional local exclusions.
